Tournament InformationThe format makes it fast and fun, the rules make it intense and action packed, the environment encourages creativity.
Game time
Teams will play minimum of 4 games per tournament/festival. Each game is 12 minutes long.
Tournaments have group games followed by playoff, final, or consolation game(s). Depending on the number of teams at each group there are multiple finals based on position in each group.
Rules of 3v3USA- Games are played on our unique AirPitch system which keeps the ball in play more.
- Game starts with all players touching their net. On whistle it is a race to the ball on the center spot.
- If it does go out then the opposition has a kick in from where the ball went out (indirect).
- After each goal the scoring team must retreat to their own goal And wait till the ball is kicked. At kickoff the ball must be near the centre line and be kicked backwards to start.
- Any foul/handball by defending team in the attacking half is a half way line open net penalty. Attacking team handball, is an indirect kick for defensive team.
- Players can not stand within 1m of their own goal. Defensive players playing ball in the arc, results in a half way line open net penalty. Offensive player touching ball in arc, results in kickoff for other team (no goals allowed on touches in arc).
- You can't score from your own half.
- Sin bins- any serious foul play will result in a 3 minute sin bin. The player must leave the pitch and only return once the referee confirms it is ok to do so.
- Red cards may be given by referees which will result in a minimum of 2 game ban for the individual player.
Squad sizes
Each team can have 3-4 players per squad. Players can only play for 1 team throughout the tournament. Substitutions are made at end of each 3 min quarter. The player watching can not obstruct the AirPitch or play on the field. Each player on 4 man rosters must sit one quarter and play 3 quarters. This leads to some strategy for teams subbing order.
Rewards and medals
Winning team players will receive awards. Prizes will also be given out during the event for top skills seen by 3v3USA staff.
Parents and SpectatorsParents must stand outside PMT playing area (fence).
Any abusive language or behavior towards officials, opponents or others will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave and your team may be banned without refund.
